Kauffman & Associates, Inc. Wins 2009 Communicator Award

Brochures, a calendar and related marketing materials created by Kauffman & Associates, Inc. (KAI) for the Indian Health Service (IHS) Office of Environmental Health and Engineering have won a 2009 Communicator Award of Distinction in the category of marketing/promotion campaigns.

IHS is using the award-winning materials to encourage tribal leaders to increase tribal investment in the operation and maintenance of sanitation facilities like wells and water treatment plants.

Prior to writing and designing the materials, KAI conducted stakeholder interviews and found strong support for the themes of preserving natural resources and protecting tribal lands. The resulting tagline, "Clean Water: Making Life Possible," brings the concept to life.
